Matthias Russ on Retrieval Amputation

The inaugural Alfred Shock, Trauma & Resuscitation (Alfred STAR) Procedures Course was successfully held on February 7-8 2017. The initial course was held at the Melbourne University Anatomy Lab, and was booked out by retrieval physicians from Adult Retrieval Victoria. The participants consisted of a mixture of  predominantly critical care specialists, all based in Melbourne Victoria. The core faculty consisted of specialist staff from the Alfred Emergency & Trauma Centre in Melbourne, as well as specialist surgical faculty (see our faculty page for more details).

There's no doubt in my mind that the confidence of the participants for performing potentially life saving procedures in the retrieval and emergency department setting was greatly enhanced by this course.
