Dr Chris Groombridge is currently an Emergency Physician working at the Alfred Hospital.
After completing his emergency medicine training in February 2013 he move to Sydney to work as a Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital Emergency Department. Chris has a particular interest in the prehospital management of trauma and has worked as a retrieval specialist with Sydney HEMS & CareFlight NSW, and for the last year has been working in the United Kingdom with London’s Air Ambulance.
Chris’ current research interests focus on optimising airway management outside of the operating theatre and has previously published work on preoxygenation for rapid sequence intubation (RSI) and prehospital RSI induction pharmacology.
Chris is a co-founder of the Emergency Trauma Management (ETM) course based in Melbourne, as well as a founding faculty member of The Alfred’s Shock, Trauma and Resuscitation (S.T.A.R) Program.
