Mr Jin Tee


Complex Spine & Brain Surgeon, The Alfred Hospital

Mr. Jin Tee is an academic complex spine and brain surgeon. His surgical practice focuses on minimally invasive (MIS) and open surgical solutions for degenerative spinal disorders, spinal tumours, spinal deformity including scoliosis, cranio-cervical junction abnormalities, and trauma. He also treats brain trauma, tumours, and brain fluid (CSF) flow dysfunction.

Mr. Tee is heavily involved in clinical research. He concentrates on clinical outcomes  of spine surgery in the fields of spine trauma, degenerative spine and spine oncology, of which he has extensively published. He is involved in registry based studies in Australia and North America to ultimately assist in improving the international quality of spine care. He is also involved internationally in spinal cord and spine column injury research. He is an active research member of the AOSpine International Oncology Study Group.

Mr. Tee was a medical graduate of the University of Melbourne. After selection into the Australasian Neurosurgery Training Program, he trained at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Alfred (Melbourne), St. Vincent's Hospital (Melbourne) and the Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne). During this time, he also completed a post graduate Doctorate of Medicine at Monash University (Melbourne). He then completed the AOSpine North America Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Vancouver Spine Institute, Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Tee currently consults and performs neurosurgery in the public sector at The Alfred, Prahran and St. Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy. He is also a spine trauma and complex spine surgeon at the Alfred, Prahran and a clinical researcher at the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI). He consults and performs surgeries on private patients at St. Vincent's Private Hospital, Fitzroy and The Epworth, Richmond.
